1995. New Ceres Solutions developped SignofNCS, the first plug-in based solution ever developped to drive cutting plotters directly from Adobe Illustrator 5.5 on MacOS 7.6.
2000. Our solution is worldwide known and used under the name NCS MagiSign. It runs over Adobe Illustrator 8, and later over Adobe Illustrator 9 and Adobe Illustrator 10 over Mac OS 8 and later Mac OS 9. It evolves on regular basis to enlarge its compatibility with new versions of Adobe Illustrator and Mac OS.
2008. NCS MagiSign 2.0 is available for :
- Adobe Illustrator 10.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
- Adobe Illustrator CS 1.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
- Adobe Illustrator CS 2.0 on Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther), Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
- Adobe illustrator CS 3.0 on Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard).
The current version 2.1 includes all the minor releases we develop to add new drivers
A simple USB cable is enough to drive the major brand of cutters using our solution, as we developped our own USB driver to proceed from Adobe Illustrator over Mac OS X. This includes i.e. :
- Graphtec FC 5000, 7000 and 8000, CE3000 and CE5000 series and CraftROBO-Pro series
- Summa SummaCut series, SummaCut Pharos series, SummaSign and SummaSign Pro series, and Summa S Class series (with OPOS)
- Mutoh Ultima series
In addition to those NCS USB internal drivers to drive those cutters through a direct USB-USB cable, NCS MagiSign drives more than 300 other models of cutting plotters through serial cable with or without USB-to-serial adapter from all the most recent Apple computer models (G4, G5, etc...). Among those are all the major brand models from this industry : Allen Datagraph, Aristo, Dilli, GCC, Graphtec, Ioline, Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland, Summa, Zünd,...
